Over the years, Investors Direct has developed an enviable reputation as a financial planning services company dedicated to the property investor.
Yet, this didn’t happen overnight. We didn’t start the company suddenly knowing everything about financial planning, mortgage advice, property investment advice and other investment related solutions that our clients wanted.
The knowledge, insight and understanding about the unique property investment advice needs of the property investor came from thousands of personal one to one conversations with our clients. It arose from our regular surveys of customer needs. It came from thousands of property investors attending our popular financial planning and education seminars.
One important factor we’d like to share is that through these conversations and research of the market, we found that 90% of all Australians actually don’t want to deal with the usual financial planning companies because they don’t trust them. Many advisors who work for these larger organisations feel challenged by the focus being about how much product they can sell to people instead of delivering holistic advice solutions.
So long ago, we decided that we wanted to help the 90% of Australians with little affinity for financial planning advice, and more specifically dues to our background, harness all our energies towards providing market leading solutions to property investors to deliver holistic financial planning in their language.
Serving our customers one at a time, we’ve gradually built a strong understanding of common needs and wants. And as a result, we’ve been able to develop specialist expertise in servicing those needs.
We developed financial planning education tools and courses to ensure every customer is well informed and knowledgeable about their investments.
We never advise clients to sell property assets as a path to us selling more products.
In fact, our advice model has been set up to be non-institutionally owned and using an industry term – “open” – which means we are able to accommodate direct assets in our advice model, as well as all the other investment options you have available to you, such as shares, bonds and alternatives.
The needs of property investors are complex. We know they need financial planning assistance, debt reduction services, SMSF advice, portfolio construction, diversified investment selection that complements their core asset class, access to current property data and analytical tools to help them make it and stay on track. This is what we strive to deliver every single day.
Investors Direct has established our own Advisory Group in IDFS; we’ve accessed a wide range of mortgage products, direct property and equity fund solutions and recently launched our own superannuation product – ID Super – which is designed with property investors in mind.
Our IDFS network is another way we’re meeting the needs of property investors around the country.
This team is made up of qualified property investment advice professionals, with a special interest and capability to truly assist property investment clients, rather than working against them by only advising them in shares & managed funds.
Our Advisors run their own business under their own brand, and Investors Direct then supports them with systems, products and tools to help you, as clients within our Group
The reason why we chose to build and support a national team of advisers, was to ensure we had the scale and footprint of support for clients all around Australia who have attended our property investment advice seminars or transacted business with Investors Direct in the past.
