Goal Setting

During a typical goal setting session, you can use the software to:

  • Test different scenarios and investing preferences to ensure that your goal is realistic and achievable;
  • Handle ongoing variable personal expenses such as your income, children's education, retirement, holidays;
  • Work out whether you will be able to get finance year after year until your goal is reached;
  • Handle income tax, capital gains tax, land tax, stamp duty, and other property expenses for a typical property transaction all of which will vary depending on whether you are buying, selling or holding any particular property; and
  • Manage the risks of over-leverage, inadequate cash reserves and unsustainable monthly cash flows.

 

Investment plan development and implementation.

We provide a written Investment Plan which is a roadmap towards your financial goals. It usually consists of:

  • A set of policies to prevent you from going off-track and away from your goal; and
  • A series of action steps that often require persistent repetition until the goal is reached.

Ongoing review and financial coaching.

Achieving a long term financial goal requires persistent effort over a long period of time. As this can fall into the "important but not urgent" category, very few people tend to achieve their financial goals on their own without a third party such as a coach or personal trainer to push them and hold them accountable.

Part of the duty of a financial planner is to be the investor's financial coach or personal trainer to help keep your financial objectives at the top of your agenda and to do so persistently for a long period of time until your goal is reached.
