LANGUAGE OF MONEY

Actually I can honestly say that I have gained a lot out of the Language of Money program.  I found the content of the seminar very useful and it certainly challenged my existing thoughts and practices in relation to money and how I perceive it.

The most important adjustment for me that came from attending the seminar and the subsequent use of the Family Budget spreadsheet is that I am more conscious of my spending and less inclined to waste money on frivolous items.

I’ve already made some significant changes to my monthly budget and have managed to increase savings over the past few months.  Prior to attending the course, I certainly wasn’t in a position to even think about increasing my property portfolio.  But now that my thinking on such matters has shifted, I’m already looking in to what my next steps will be.

The program is certainly an empowering exercise. I feel that I have gained more respect about the way I manage my money.  The monthly exercise (aka ritual) also helps me realise that I don't have to worry about the bills.  In fact, I look forward to receiving bills in the mail because I know that I have taken the action of allocating funds into my reserve payment account.
  
The revised template you provided me also allows for a more accurate view of the funds needed to support living and investment expenses.

It's great to know that Van is starting to use the system too. With your help and support, I'm sure she'll experience the powerful benefits like I have in no time.

The Language of Money program has, for the first time in our lives, allowed us to get into a regular routine of budgeting. With the support we received for the first few months, it was possible to finally make the monthly discipline a manageable task. The planning of our money prompted a review of all our expenses, including new quotes for insurances, cars and phones. 
The template provides a simple way to review your total financial picture with accurate up to date data…gives you more options for money decisions not planned for. 
The money template prompted the thinking of what accounts do we need, what key expenses do we have, and how & where are they allocated? What actions did we need to take to achieve the budget planning structure that we wanted?
Using this template saves time and money. I have learnt by setting aside a couple of hours every month and updating actual, and budgeting ahead keeps the plan alive and real and achievable.
We feel that we are getting SORTED!

Just a quick email to let you know that in the second full month of using the budgeting tool we have achieved a reasonable surplus after recording a deficit in the first month.  This result could only be achieved however by the persistent tutoring that Sarah provided over many months of phone calls.  I always found Sarah to be very courteous, patient, and clear with her explanations.  Likewise, she has always been prompt with calling at the scheduled time.  I am very confident that I can carry on the good work that Sarah helped me start, and I've no doubt that she has helped and will help many more of your clients.

Well I have everything up and running now and am working on a budget for weekly spending.  It's good to have an emergency account.  I call on it at times.  I was thinking of my daughters school fees for next year and I forgot I now have an education fund account for her to use.  It was very reassuring.  
 
I look at my budget every week.  I need to work more but need to find the time to do it.  I really like the fact that I have put the periodical payments away every week so this way I know what I am really left with to spend on the kids and family weekly.  When the money is finished i now say to the kids put it on the list for next week, mum has spent the budget and they are pretty good about it.
 
I have managed to buy a few Xmas presents from living expenses which will mean that I will not have a debt at Christmas - just buy slowly as I go.

Hopefully I want to start paying off principal off the loan but I will get to that next year.

It's going well and has certainly changed the way we manage our money. I've taken ownership of the management, so I now know exactly where we're at and can make conscious decisions about our spending. The hard part was setting it up and getting started, but now it's in place, it's not as big a task to manage as I initially thought. Thanks for your help getting started, much appreciated.
