We’re now an Owners Corporation!

Over the last couple of years we’ve had a substantial number of our landlord clients requesting that we should have an Owners Corporation so that the developments we construct can be fully managed by our department.  

It was a great idea that made perfect sense to us. After all, we do handle the property management side of things in our complexes, so why shouldn’t we also look after the ‘other side’ of management so that we could have full control over what happens in all areas of the building.

So I’m very pleased to announce that last year we formed our Owners Corporation – Investors Direct Owners Corporation Pty Ltd. And it is now fully functioning!

It took quite a bit of work to get it up and running but it’s all been worth it. Kylie and I did all the appropriate training with the R.E.I.V.  We also paid for an exceptional Owners Corporation Consultant to spend time in our office, just to make sure that everything we put in place was correct and ready to go.  On her recommendation we also chose Stratamaster to run the electronic management processes for us.  

When it came time to choose who would run our Owners Corporation Department, rather than engage someone from “outside” the business, we decided to choose someone who already knew our business. She is someone many of you will already know – Diana Welbourn! We are very pleased that Di will be handling the day to day Owners Corporation tasks under Kylie’s supervision.  Diana has been with Investors Direct for many years now and she is very excited about the opportunity to handle this new division.  We know Di will continue to communicate well with all our clients and she will be in touch with you in due course as our complexes are completed this year. 

Managing ‘both sides’ of an investment property development has many benefits, but the most important one is that it puts everyone in a much better position to make the best decisions, not only for the development itself but also for our landlords and their tenants. So we are very pleased that we have been able to make this happen.

The Owners Corporation department will operate as an extension of I.D.P.M. and the team will work together to achieve the best outcomes for both ‘sides’. That’s the way it should be!  As some of our landlord clients (who own units and townhouses in a number of our areas) already know, some of the Owners Corporations currently managing our developments are giving our clients reason for some concern.  We hope that providing superior service through our new Owners Corporation we’ll be able to address some of those concerns and provide both levels of management to all our clients.
